General Information

The India Economic Policy Conference is a premier gathering that will bring together leading experts, policymakers, and scholars to critically examine the evolving economic landscape of India. Hosted under the leadership and guidance of Hoover Senior Fellows Dr. Raghuram Rajan, Dr. Amit Seru, and Dr. Šumit Ganguly, this full-day event aims to foster insightful discussions and provide a platform for invited experts to present their recent research. Sessions will explore a range of topics, including the effectiveness of large government programs, healthcare and education, environmental and energy policies, digital transformation, workforce development, foreign direct investment (FDI), political economy, and geopolitics.

Date and Location

The India Economic Policy Conference is scheduled for November 13, 2025, at the George P. Shultz Building, Hoover Institution, Stanford University, California, USA. Activities begin at 8:30 AM and conclude after dinner at 8:00 PM.

Format

Conference sessions will be closed-door, conducted under Chatham House Rules. Lunch and dinner sessions will be public and recorded. Conference sessions will feature 2–3 presentations, a moderated discussion, and Q&A.

Information for Invited Speakers

Travel and Accommodation

Invited speakers will be reimbursed for travel expenses up to the amount specified in their invitation. Reimbursements are processed after the conference. Airfare receipts should be emailed to jleakey@stanford.edu. Accommodation at the Sheraton Palo Alto Hotel will be arranged by the conference organizers.

Important Note: The reimbursement amount listed in your invitation includes taxes and any other fees associated with your ticket.

Important Note: Hotel accommodation is only available for invited speakers traveling to the Bay Area for the conference. If you are traveling from within the United States, we will provide a two-night stay at the Sheraton Palo Alto Hotel for the nights of November 12 and 13. If you are traveling from outside the United States, we will provide a three-night stay at the Sheraton Palo Alto Hotel. You may choose any three nights between November 11 and November 14.
