Trade, Economic Security, and Standard Setting

Team Description

This team will consider the role of international trade and trade policy in fostering prosperity and economic security in the United States and abroad. Topical coverage includes tariffs, export restrictions, trade agreements, multilateral trade organizations, dispute resolution, the role of standards in international trade, supply chain resilience, trade sanctions, trade and industrial structure, how trade and trade policy affect U.S. debt servicing costs, the intersection of trade and geopolitical concerns, trade as a tool of foreign policy, China’s role in the international trading system, and the role of other important U.S. trading partners (e.g., Mexico, Canada, Europe, Japan, South Korea).
