The Transformation of Defense
Team Description
In an era defined by an evolving world order, strategic competitors nearing parity, the breakdown of nuclear arms control, and the rapid diffusion of powerful technologies, the United States must rethink how it provides for the common defense. These challenges are compounded by stress on domestic institutions and social cohesion. This project assesses the metrics, capabilities, organizational structures, and authorities the U.S. defense enterprise will require to deter aggression against American vital interests, citizens, borders, and allies—and to prevail decisively if deterrence fails.
